GT3

iM Feature: Struck by lighting! Porsche GT3!

Here’s a car that doesn’t need no introduction.

But just in case you don’t know, this is the brand new Porsche 997.2 GT3 RS that me and Raymond recently did a shoot of.

Even though I didn’t drive it, I did ride shotty in it. The beauty of this GT3 RS is how alive it makes you feel, even just prowling around the city streets. This is a pin-sharp car, but there’s comfort now, a new respect for your fillings and spine. Don’t for a moment think the RS can’t be driven every day, just takes more nerves and energy then your usual car.

There are lots of fast cars out there, lots of stripped-back racers. But what Porsche have managed to do is save weight, still keep a smattering of luxury and make people feel like driving gods. It might be an expensive way to feel like you’re The Stig… but it’s [flick hair] so worth it.

After the ride/photoshoot of this GT3 RS, it really made me think the regular GT3 looks tame compared to this.

Raymond will have his Part 2 pics up shortly

Till next time,
Jeff 🙂

iM Random Snaps

iM: Random Snap > 1991 Jetta GL

Just wanted to give the homie Matt a shout out and props on a nicely set up 1991 VW Jetta GL Turbo Diesel. This thing is damn clean!!! Possibly an iM shoot in the future? Oh most definitely!

Acura

iM: Justin’s Type-R

Sitting around shooting the shit, hanging with some other Honda heads while they did a clutch install so I snapped a couple quick pics of Justin’s new whip.

You may recall his previous car….. a stupid dumped EG Civic hatch seen here:
Justin’s slammed EG hatch

Anyone that knows Justin knew the new car was going to be dumped immediately. In fact it was ridding low before most people even realized he had the car.

Yes he completely ruined a Type-R haha…. so bring on the hate!

Pictures really do the ride height no justice. Wheels are only 15″ haha…. could easily tuck rim with 16’s. Dope!

Really liked this picture…. too bad I messed up the exposure settings and it went all blue toned. Still turned out alright.

Full set of pictures coming soon. And remember kids, if it aint a type-r then it aint a tight car!

Driven 2010

illmotion x Driven 2010 – Part III

The final part of my batch from Driven last Saturday is the rest of the show. I tried my best to take shots of all the other cars that I could. Most turned out, some didn’t unfortunately. I apologize if you don’t see your car here!
The show was great and there was a great turnout of tons of other cars that you don’t normally see roaming the streets all the time so it was a nice place to be if you had even the slightest love for sick cars with tons of money and work put into them.

Enjoy!

We’ll start off with a ceiling view of one side of the show – mostly illmotion’s booth.

Moving on to the WSC booth. These guys were right beside us and a pleasure to have them there as well!

Beyond’s booth starting with Adnan’s car

RevWerks’ booth

After that.. I lost track of which booth I was going to. This looked to be the BMW booth

Mitsubishi Booth. Look at those Grids! Love the concave and color!

LOVE this EvoX. I was pretty obsessed with the Voltex wing *drool*

Nurburgring

24 Hours of Hi-Def bliss

I was just surfing the net and came upon this amazing video shot by Tim Hahne at the 24 hours of Nurburgring. Using only a Canon 5D MkII and a few lenses, he captured the entire day in what I feel is one of the most amazing racing videos out there. He really captures the spirit of the day, from the start to the finish, from the trials and tribulations endured by the drivers and crews of such an endurance event to the joys of finishing the race to what the fans and spectators were doing. Truly an amazing watch.

Shoutout

FreshSkewl Shoutout

Just wanted to give a shout out to a “FreshSkewl” – one of many blogs that gave us props on his site.

Driven 2010

Driven 2010 – couple more illmotion pics

Tough act to follow after seeing Rich and Jason’s pictures…. but here a couple quickies that I happened to like.

Jackie’s shit is serious!

Derek’s integra was not running at 8:00 on Friday night….. it made roll in later Friday night by 5 minutes haha. There were many sleepless nights this past week by the boys getting this car done.

Just noticed when I was flipping through the pics the custom plate…. VERNO. Haha, nice! If you get it then you know whats up.

Tucked and shaved bay…. one of the first local Honda’s (that I’m aware of) that has successfully pulled it off. On top of that it’s rockin ITB’s and an epic custom valve cover.

AE-S2k + all the other old school homies.

RX8 with Project Mu’s bigger then most people wheels among many other baller parts.

Baller Dal’s DC integra. Uber rare Mugen gen.1 wing among a couple other taste full upgrades this season.

More Honda/Honda/Honda.

Jamie with his freshly refinished Volks…. they were finished Friday morning haha, another one cut close that almost didn’t make it.

DETO Feature: Jtune Performance

This is DETO’s very first performance shop feature. As you follow DETO, we will do our best to bring you tuning culture in it’s rawest form while trying to inform and entertain. With that said, welcome to Jtune Performance, located right in Wilmington, Delaware. Jtune is a one-stop shop for every grade of the racing enthusiast.

Jtune specializes in everything from dyno tuning your daily driver to building fire-breathing beasts. Here, Hok the owner, shows us where they do all of their custom fabrication and machining.

Jtune are able and ready to tune any make or model, but their specialty are Nissan and Infinities. While I was there, Jtune was currently tuning a Nissan from every level of the spectrum…

10 second Z anyone?

Here’s a 700hp Z that is a repeat customer with Jtune. Hok says that the owner of the Z won’t stop until the car is in the 9’s. He enjoys the sheer bliss of walking Z06’s all day 🙂 And with that said, Hok made a good point. After dropping 10-20k on your dream car, why would you take it to the local lube station just so the high school kid working there can strip the nut right off your oil pan? Regular maintenance is part of the package at Jtune.

EVO tails on a Prelude, this one had me confused at first..

Ahh,…an RB with a Tomei head+Cosworth block=match made in heaven.

There’s Mike working on a secrete project for a customer of theirs.

Here you are looking at a Nissan SR20 in a FF application. Yes, you read that right. You’d normally find this motor in a 240(or in Japan in the Sunny or Pulsar), but it’s being installed in a Sentra. This customer has something special to show up all his Honda friends…I kinda feel bad, they’ll never see it coming… 🙂

Mike(Jtune) and Tyrone(DETO) comparing pros and cons of Nissans and Hondas.

Here’s a pic of Niki being caught off guard…

So far I showed you where Jtune resides and what they do. Hok invited me to follow them over to Wall Twp, NJ for round 3 of Formula D so I could show you Jtune in action. The car you see is the V-LEDS drift car from Washington state being drifted by the young and talented Dean Kearney. As you can see below, I had to maneuver around the Jtune staff as they quickly prepped the car in between practice sessions.

It took all day, but i finally caught up with Dean. Dean is from Ireland and went pro at 16 making a name for himself as a fierce competitor in the Prodrift Super Series, he’s now 21 and is determined to take the title here in the states.

All in together here is the Jtune staff. Starting top left and going clock-wise is Mike, Hok, Niki and Nuri.

As you can imagine, there are plenty of performance shops here in the tri-state that I could have done a feature on. I picked Jtune for many reasons. These guys are passionate about what they do, they literally live and breath it from the sheer knowledge they exude to holding their very own track day at Englishtown Raceway. They are the most down-to-earth group while being on top of their game at what they do. Do yourself a favor and pay these guys a visit at:
