iM Event Coverage: Weekly 403 Honda/Beyond.ca Meet – July…

Better late than never, right? Sorry for the delay, been busy over here. Here are a bunch of pics from the July 24th 403 Honda/Beyond.ca meet. Nice to see the diversity in vehicles continue with more and more cars from different manufacturers showing up.

Here are a few snaps from the night, these and more can be found here on our Flickr set: HERE

iM Event Coverage: 2013 Calgary International Auto Show

A bunch of us got to check out the Calgary International Auto Show that rolls into town every year. All the dealerships bring in a bunch of cars to the show, and its basically a big showoff of all the automakers cars, and then some. Didn’t take too many pics, and excuse the randomness, but here are a few of the cars that caught my eye.

VIP Accord in the Honda Booth. Not too bad in execution, it seems weird being an Accord, but they tried. Check out the baller VIP tray and seat stitching. Not sure what I think of the exhaust though.

Honda Gear prototype. Kinda neat, EG Civic sized. Obviously prototype since the wheels, calipers, and rotor were all one piece.

Fisker Karma, the solar panel roof stands out more on this color than on the dark color they had last year.

Bronze Aston Martin, such a gorgeous color.

McLaren booth.

The color on this Lamborghini was easily my favorite colored car at the show. Looks a little bit darker in person, but it was a flat grey with a clearcoat.

Crazy race FR-S in the Scion booth. Flared out, gutted interior, and some makeshift aero. Taillights look so much better all red, thats how they should’ve come.

BMW M6 Gran Coupe in Frozen Silver. The color is so subtle, yet so captivating.

Porsche 911 Carrera 4S. Love this body style.

Chrome wrapped Lambo in the ZR Auto booth. Are we in Dubai? Not a bad idea, but the wrap itself doesn’t look too good, seems like it would scratch and scuff easily.
null

Plasti-Dipped FRS in the Matrix Motorsports booth. Wild color, and sick headlights, I just don’t like the feel and texture of Plasti-Dip, seems too rough.

And last but not least, the Volkswagen Performance Booth! This one is special because out very own JC was manning this booth. He was given the task of taking this Golf, and outfitting it with a bunch of Volkswagen accessories.

iM Event Coverage: Luxury / Exotic Cruise For a…

This past weekend we attended the 2nd Annual Luxury / Exotic Cruise For a Cause set up by local realtor Jordan Lotoski. About 30 cars came out and raised nearly $2500 for the Kelm family who has 3 children all who are affected by Fragile X Syndrome. After a quick meet in the morning at Distinctive Collection the cruise began, and as you can imagine with this group of cars it turned lots of heads as we cruised out to Banff Springs Hotel for brunch. This was a great event to take part in and thanks to everyone efforts in organizing it, can’t wait for next year.

iM: Weekly 403 Honda/Beyond Meet – June 22, 2011

With the recent end of the hockey season and finally a nice clearing for the weather, our weekly meets have resumed. It’s so sick how the turnouts lately have been quite large and people are bringing out their rides and sharing their effort. Unfortunately, it gives us more work to do to take these pics, but in the end it helps make for a unique post every week.

Lots of crazy cars this week. Let’s keep this up and bring all your friends!

What’s up! from Import Bible

Hey guys I’ll introduce my self quickly. My name is David, I’m the owner of Import Bible and also the web/graphic guy at Edmonton based shop, Garage Works. I come across some great cars at Garage Works so I thought I’d post a few pictures up of the cars we work on there.

First up is Ed’s Cayman S. It look’s like a slightly modified Cayman S but Ed spent a pretty dime prepping this one to be a track monster. The most notable modification is a X51 engine swap from a Porsche 911, KW suspension and custom roll cage.

The car sits on a set of custom made Forgeline rims.

These lightweight seats were from a 996 GT3.

A SpeedArt spoiler replaces the stock spoiler.

A better view of the Supersprint exhaust and rear stance.

iM Feature: Struck by lighting! Porsche GT3!

Here’s a car that doesn’t need no introduction.

But just in case you don’t know, this is the brand new Porsche 997.2 GT3 RS that me and Raymond recently did a shoot of.

Even though I didn’t drive it, I did ride shotty in it. The beauty of this GT3 RS is how alive it makes you feel, even just prowling around the city streets. This is a pin-sharp car, but there’s comfort now, a new respect for your fillings and spine. Don’t for a moment think the RS can’t be driven every day, just takes more nerves and energy then your usual car.

There are lots of fast cars out there, lots of stripped-back racers. But what Porsche have managed to do is save weight, still keep a smattering of luxury and make people feel like driving gods. It might be an expensive way to feel like you’re The Stig… but it’s [flick hair] so worth it.

After the ride/photoshoot of this GT3 RS, it really made me think the regular GT3 looks tame compared to this.

Raymond will have his Part 2 pics up shortly

Till next time,
Jeff 🙂

iM Feature: Davey’s 1987 Porsche 944S

We here at ill.motion are not just about imports, slamming shit, loud exhausts and low offsets. Once in a while something different comes along and it’s one of those things that you can just appreciate because it deserves respect.

One of those things is Davey’s 1987 Porsche 944S. Last summer when we were out shooting a bunch of cars, one of the photographers that tagged along with us was Davey and her (yeah, her) Porsche – mint and just awesomeness. It’s rare to see a car like this around town in this type of condition and with that, I think Davey and her car deserve a nice shout out.

What recession?
