iM Feature: Jackie Law’s 2003 Honda S2000

There comes a time for anyone who’s ever been a part of this car culture, where a love/hate relationship begins to develop for his/her build. Owners may grow out of love for these builds and feel that it’s time to move on to something else, and others may feel that his/her build is at it’s absolute peak and there is nothing left to do to the car. There are however, owners with nothing but passion and dedication for their project cars, who will always step up to that next level of awesomeness to continue to keep turning heads and continue to inspire others in the game to keep doing their thing.

For those who have followed illmotion since the beginning, some of you may very well know the story of Jackie Law and his 2003 Honda S2000. Dubbed as the “Internet Sensation” a few years back, there isn’t one automotive enthusiast site that hasn’t posted or shared pictures of this J’s Racing inspired Honda S2000. With such recognition over the internet, and even gaining more admirers from the magazine/print world through Honda Tuning, the only question that remained for Jackie was, ‘What else is there left to do with this car?’.

The answer for Jackie at first definitely was not clear, as he was unsure whether or not to give his S2K new life with some drastic changes, or get rid of it completely. A long story short however, Jackie deleted any notion of getting rid of his S2000 and decided that it was time to reclaim the name that was given to him by his peers and come correct with what we feel, is one of the hardest S2000s coming out of the BC Coast.

The biggest, most noticeable change that Jackie presents us with the rebirth of his S2000, is the body and paint work. Anyone who’s seen Jackie’s S2000 in person knows it’s not easy fitting the aggressive wheels that he puts under these fenders, so newly pulled fenders and rear quarters were in order. Since new front fenders were being installed, Jackie stepped his own game up and followed through by repainting the entire vehicle “Moonrock Metallic”. This once “Sebring Silver” S2000 was sure to break necks with a fresh new paint job.

When it comes to fitment and wheel selection, Jackie is no stranger to the game of stance. With the new fender and rear quarter work completed on his S2000, it was time to bring back the aggressively concaved 18×9.5 +22 Volk TE37s, but not with just any ordinary color, however. To accentuate the “Moonrock Metallic” exterior, Jackie opted for a “Bright Yellow Pearl” finish on the TE37s to definitely give his S2000 a louder pop than his previous Sebring Silver/Candy Blue set up.

As a majority of the parts on this S2000 remain the same, there are a few minor updates and refinements that can be found on this S2000, such as a brand new set of T1R B-Max Coilovers, and on the aero side of things, an AP2 rear bumper was added as well as a Voltex Carbon Rear Diffuser.

With the amount of time put into the body work of this S2000, the results definitely came out in Jackie’s favor as he even will agree, that this is the best his S2000 has looked since it’s inception as the “Internet Sensation”. By giving his S2000 the updated look it needed to constantly drop jaws and turn heads, we gotta give Jackie nothing but love and appreciation for what he’s done and what he continues to bring to the table.

As this S2000 remains a work in progress, only time will tell what else Jackie has up his sleeve for his J’s Racing inspired S2000. For now however, let’s just sit back, watch, and find out exactly why Jackie’s S2000 is one of the impact players of this internet game.
