iM Random Snaps: All in a days work

The end of summer has come around leaving us with fond memories of flip flops, popsicles, and short skirtsĀ šŸ˜›Ā As fall approaches I figured id get a few guys together for a bunch of photos before the cars get put away for the winter. I grabbed my camera and gear and our first stop leads us to this Suzuka Blue S2000, mildly modified to specific regulations for competitive racing. Then we head out into the night with a new Audi S4 and a couple of Japanese favorites! We even stopped by the localĀ carĀ meet for a bit of eye candy!

iM Event Coverage: 2014 VW Close To Home Show…

Last weekend on Sunday June 8th, 2014, CLUB VEE DUB hosted the Close To Home Show & Shine at Fifth Avenue Auto Haus, Calgary’s Northeast Volkswagen Dealer. A few of us swung by to check it out the new and classic Volkswagens & Audi’s, which filled the lot throughout the day.

iM Event Coverage: Waterfest 2013

Back on July 20th/21st 2013, Englishtown, New Jersey played host to the 19th Annual Waterfest show. Waterfest, a Motorsport and Car Show which is dubbed as the second largest of it’s kind in the world, caters specifically to the Volkswagen and Audi crowd. With tons of activities available to all Volkswagen/Audi enthusiasts including a Show & Shine, 1/4 Mile Drag Race, Autocrossing, Audio Sound Off, a Burn Out Contest, a Dyno and an Exhibition area from Vendors, the Waterfest Show brings in a total of 21,000 attendees and over 2500 attendants every year!

Our illmotion East photographer, Galen Wan (aka Gawa Photo) had the opportunity to check out Waterfest while he was out on a recent trip to New York. Being that Waterfest is a 2-day event Galen took as much photos as he could during the day that he was out there, and we are more than ecstatic to share these photos with you guys! With a plethora of modified Volkswagens and Audis (and a few other European makes as well) at hand this is definitely a show that every diehard Volkswagen and Audi/Euro car enthusiast cannot miss!

Without further adieu let’s have a look at Waterfest 2013, through the eyes of GAWA:

iM Random Snaps: It’s Always A Good Time

Whoa oh oh, oh oh oh!

ANYWAYS! With the hustle and bustle of the crew trying to get as much photo shoots done as possible before the winter hits, it feels as though that’s all we’ve been focusing on as of late, and have lost touch with what the automotive “scene” is all about for us: having a good time.

Since the summer season started, we’ve been very busy with organizing for Driven, Sunday School, and other small events here and there. One Saturday night we figured it would be nice to just kick back, and enjoy a few burgers and shakes at Peter’s Drive-In. With great company on hand, we figured it wouldn’t be “illmotion” without a few photos of the homies who came out with us on this lovely evening.

Check out a few pics of our Saturday night and look forward to many more photos like this, because in the end it really is, always a good time!

iM Event Coverage: Auto Union 2012

On Sunday August 19, 2012, A few of us from the crew made it out to Red Deer, Alberta to check out the Auto Union 2012 Show. Luckily, we were able to catch the last little bit of the show and from what we saw, the cars that attended were definitely suited up for the event. The Auto Union show attracted a pretty decent turn out with some top notch cars of various makes and models. We hope this show happens and again next year and hopefully we are there to participate at the event and of course stay for a longer period of time!

We hope you enjoy a few snaps that we managed to get JUST before the show ended!

On to the pics…

iM Event Coverage: Luxury / Exotic Cruise For a…

This past weekend we attended the 2nd Annual Luxury / Exotic Cruise For a Cause set up by local realtor Jordan Lotoski. About 30 cars came out and raised nearly $2500 for the Kelm family who has 3 children all who are affected by Fragile X Syndrome. After a quick meet in the morning at Distinctive Collection the cruise began, and as you can imagine with this group of cars it turned lots of heads as we cruised out to Banff Springs Hotel for brunch. This was a great event to take part in and thanks to everyone efforts in organizing it, can’t wait for next year.

iM Event Coverage: WaterWerks – On The Green

Waterwerks has always been one of the main shows I choose to book off every year. This year the show went a different route from previous years which was located in a baseball stadium parking lot near Tacoma WA. For 2012 the organizers decided to host two events, one in North Bend WA located on a beautiful 230 acre polo field while the other on the California coast line. Usually this event features cars from all over the PNW and California. The two events this year had separated the crowds to mainly PNW cars at this venue. It was great to see how many local cars from the Vancouver scene showed up while many won awards. It was also nice to see what the rest of the PNW had to offer.

iM Highlight: Al Patel’s 2006 Audi S4

For any Luxury tuner out there in the game, there are probably three simple words that first come to mind when modifying their vehicle. Now, not to get things twisted, these three words are not “I’m A Boss”, these three simple words are “Keep It Classy”.

When Al Patel acquired a practically mint 2006 Audi S4 earlier this year, there is no doubting the fact that keeping it classy was his master plan. Starting with the basics of smoking the headlights, taillights, fogs and blacking out the S4’s silver metallic front fascia, this S4 was on it’s way to NOT looking like your average daily driven Audi on the streets.

Complete with subtle yet effective exterior changes on the S4, Al told himself that he would give the car an aggressive stance and be done with it since the S4 after all, comes with a pretty beastly 4.2 V8 out of the box. With a set of Tein S.Techs dropping the car exactly where he wanted, and a set of 10mm/17mm ECS Tuning Spacers pushing out the OEM S4 wheels, was Al’s S4 really done with? Nope.

A few short months later, Al decided it was time to let the S4’s V8 breathe a little more. Long story short, Al went from initially deleting the resonators and from there resulted a completely custom and one-off exhaust system. The outcome, a sound so menacing, it literally feels like your heartstrings are being pulled right out of your chest.

To neutralize the refreshed sound of this S4, Al added a K&N Intake System. With the help of Calgary’s VW/Audi Specialists over at Concept-1, an APR Stage 1 Tune was upgraded into this S4’s ECU. To roll with the homies of stance, form and all that jazz, Al ditched the OEM S4 wheels and continued to play the stance game with a nicely staggered set of Miro 111s.

As the car stands now, only time can tell if Al will continue on with this S4 and make it his daily driver/project car, or move on to something bigger, better and badder. Whatever Al ends up doing, we’ll definitely be paying close attention.

Keeping it classy can go a very long way, and Al’s S4 has all the evidence in the world to back this statement up. With an overall impressive set up, Al achieved all of this without taking away nor compromising Audi’s luxury brand name status.

And on that note, don’t forget to keep it classy, kids.

iM Event Coverage: Waterwerks 2011

Waterwerks first kicked off a few years ago, when one of the major PNW Audi/Volkswagen events was cancelled. Local enthusiasts then came together to organize what is now the PNW’s largest European car show. Chaney Stadium has been the venue since the first event in 2008. While there were only 300 cars, there was room for growth in the rather large venue. Over the years this event has done nothing but grow. For 2011 there were over 700 cars, while at least 3000+ people walked through the gates to come and witness this event. In the years Waterfest NW has been able to pick up some huge tittle sponsors including Rotiform Wheels, Podi Gauges, Air Lift, Fine Tuning, and many more.

When you come to Waterfest, you want to come for the whole weekend. With events starting on Friday, there are endless activities to not only to partake in, but to spectate as well. They include Auto-x, Kart-x, Dyno, Teeter Totter, and the Air Ride Limbo. You want to make sure you don’t miss out on anything. Though Sunday is the climax for the whole weekend, with over 20 vendors showing their latest products. And lets not forget the the main show. Overall Waterwerks NW is a must attend event if you live in the PNW or anywhere near. Its events like these that redefine the European scene, and make it what it is today. Here are only a small amount of the photos from this event.
