Well, I’m glad we had a more behaved crowd last Wednesday. Also, it was nice to see a few of the Beyond ballers come out, as well as a few OGs. As well, the meets are getting pretty busy, which is good to see. Hope the trend continues!

Despite being somewhat still chilly out, last Wednesdays 403 Honda/Beyond.ca Meet was surprisingly busy. There was an awesome turnout, it was great to see lots of cool cars out, and tons people wondering around. I unfortunately was inside eating when (from what I’ve heard) a bunch of cops showed up. Apparently someone reported a big fight going on, but after some clarification that there was no fight that occurred, they left. With that, comes a reminder/public service announcement: We are fortunate enough that Chinook Centre security is cool with us being up there, please don’t ruin it for us by showing off. Please drive slowly through the parkades (especially up and down the ramp), no loud music, no burnouts, no erratic behaviour.

With the first Track Day of 2011 only 10 days away it’s a good time to look back at some of the cars we saw on the track last year. 2010 was a great year with plenty of track time available to everyone.
I’m sure 2011 will be a bigger and better year for the track as we will be saying good-bye to ‘Race City’ pretty soon. So if you can, make your way out to track and see what your car is made of or just come and watch some sick machines rip around. Either way it’ll be fun!

Another nice weather Wednesday equals another 403 Honda/Beyond.ca Chinook meet. Hopefully the weather keeps getting better. If you try to make it out, then we promise try our best to get out there each week to take pics. Who knows, maybe we’ll find cars that are worthy to be featured on the site!
With the exception of the 20cm of snow we got today, it seems as though the coming of the spring/summer season is imminent. And with that brings the return of the 403 Honda/Beyond.ca weekly meets. Here are a few pictures from the first meet of 2011 (and a preview/debut of a few people’s cars summer mode). On Sunday, March 20th 2011, the illmotion crew hit up the grand opening of another new shop in Calgary: Garage Box Auto Innovation. Paul Tan, responsible for a lot of awesome work done to a few of Calgary’s sickest whips, is the man in charge of the new shop.
Being that it was officially the first day of Spring (Seriously, it was), there was no better way to kick start the season than to get every one together to congratulate Paul on the opening of his new shop. With good people, good food, awesome beats and raffles with proceeds going towards Japan Tsunami Relief, Garage Box Auto Innovation definitely left a good impression to those in attendance.

And it looks like even though it’s mid march, we have some homies like Steve rocking his partial summer mode. We were lucky enough to avoid the 15-20cm snowfall warning that was supposed to hit last night. So it’s good to see.
We also have Gangster D rocking his J’s Fit. This, believe it or not is his winter beater. He’s also got a Spoon’d out S2000 for summer time. Spoon calipers for stopping in the snow? Jeez.
