iM Highlight: Tamed JDM Beasts

Over the past few dreadful winter months, I have had the chance to talk to and get to know Cecilia. Cecilia had contacted me asking for a photoshoot for her Evo X and her husband Colin’s STi. Cecilia and Colin have owned their own fair share of different types of cars from a BMW 5 series to a Honda S2000.

The best thing about these two cars is although they are rivals, they compliment each other perfectly. Having both of these cars in the garage makes for an interesting combo. Cecilia and Colin may not be hardcore tuners that go for the slammed look or the huge turbo to put down 600hp, but they have kept modification subtle enough to be different, which is what we love.

Check out these two beastly whips

Cecilia’s EVO X
Rexpseed carbon fiber front splitter covers
JDM plate
Redlinegoods custom shift boot and arm rest cover
Rally Armor mudflaps
Custom rear spoiler deck
Perrin stubby antenna
RED Mitsubishi emblems

Colin’s STi
Invidia Q300 Catback
Invidia catted downpipe
COBB Stage 2 with custom LightSpeed map
High flow drop in filter
Red tail light overlays
Hella supertones

The two rolling side by side.

Together… at last?

iM: Weekly 403 Honda/Beyond.ca Chinook Meet – April 20,…

Despite being somewhat still chilly out, last Wednesdays 403 Honda/Beyond.ca Meet was surprisingly busy. There was an awesome turnout, it was great to see lots of cool cars out, and tons people wondering around. I unfortunately was inside eating when (from what I’ve heard) a bunch of cops showed up. Apparently someone reported a big fight going on, but after some clarification that there was no fight that occurred, they left. With that, comes a reminder/public service announcement: We are fortunate enough that Chinook Centre security is cool with us being up there, please don’t ruin it for us by showing off. Please drive slowly through the parkades (especially up and down the ramp), no loud music, no burnouts, no erratic behaviour.

I tried to get as many pics as I could of all the rides, but can only fit so many on this post, so there are more here: MORE PICS

Hope you enjoy the pics, and if you’re in the Calgary area, we’d love to see you out next week! As usual, weather pending, these meets happen every Wednesday from 7-9:30 at the upper rear parkade of Chinook Centre.

iM HIghlight: Jeroen’s Honda Civic EJ2

Once again, our homies from the Netherlands show their definition of cleanliness and simplicity.

It’s nice to see a ’92 with mint paint kept in super awesome condition, especially with all the tasteful mods Jeroen has done, this is something we can definitely appreciate. From his 1968 Recaros to his JDM accents, I think this is one clean Civic.

iM Flashback

iM Flashback: Aldrich’s (Old) 2006 Toyota Tacoma X-Runner

I was diggin’ through a bunch of my pictures from a few years back, and ran across pics of my old X-Runner. I figured I’d share a few pics I have from 2008 since I miss her from time to time. But I’m glad I don’t have her at this point, she ate through gas like crazy. She looked good doing it though with the 2″ drop and 18 x 9.5 +15 wheels. Enjoy the pics!

iM: Revscene Spring meet 2011

I apologize for the near one month delay on this post. I was tied down at school with term papers and final projects Sorry. None the less, I must share this event with you viewers! So without further ado..

The spring meet happens every year at around March. Rain or Shine the turn out is always amazing. This years turn out was about 200 some cars. It’s great to see all the support the locals give to these meets. Automotive enthusiast or not, everyone enjoys the event.

From classics, to drift missiles, to show cars, to track bred beasts and even your parents daily. Evey one shows up and are welcomed.

The spring meet is one of two meets that revscene hosts within the year. To the locals car guys, the spring meet is only a sample showcase. So stay tune!!! The 2011 summer meet is only a few months away!

iM Random Snaps: Track Day Reminiscing

With the first Track Day of 2011 only 10 days away it’s a good time to look back at some of the cars we saw on the track last year. 2010 was a great year with plenty of track time available to everyone.

I’m sure 2011 will be a bigger and better year for the track as we will be saying good-bye to ‘Race City’ pretty soon. So if you can, make your way out to track and see what your car is made of or just come and watch some sick machines rip around. Either way it’ll be fun!

DETO: Matt Lomazoff’s Daily Drifter

My good friend Matt Lomazoff recently revamped his DD(daily drifter, not daily driver). I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to shoot his car at one of my favorite secrete locations…

Matt’s car isn’t your typical hella flush, trailer-ed, pristine show car. The car was built to drift and that’s exactly what Matt does with it everyday, and has the battle scars to show!

Below is some video of Matt doing what he does, in such close quarters! 😉

iM: Weekly 403 Honda/Beyond.ca Chinook Meet – April 6,…

Another nice weather Wednesday equals another 403 Honda/Beyond.ca Chinook meet. Hopefully the weather keeps getting better. If you try to make it out, then we promise try our best to get out there each week to take pics. Who knows, maybe we’ll find cars that are worthy to be featured on the site!
