iM Feature: Yau’s GTR R32

Another feature courtesy of our homie Galen Wan (aka GAWA Photo), we have Yau’s R32 GTR coming out of Toronto, Ontario. Yau’s BNR32 takes it a step further from his peers by wrapping the whole car in Carbon Fiber Vinyl Wrap. What also stands out on Yau’s GT-R are the authentic Nismo N1 pieces such as the front bumper, side skirts and wing lip. Adding to the exterior appeal of this R32 are a set of green Volk TE-37s rocking an amazing 18×10.5 with a +15 offset all around.

On the performance side of things, Yau’s GT-R sports a Jun Tuned RB26DETT, with HKS adjustable cam gears and a tomei header. This is one R32 that goes unnoticed as an HKS 3.5″ full exhaust roars past anyone who tries to get in it’s way. As for balance, this car stays planted with Buddyclub coilovers and a Cusco front & rear camber kit, Cusco strut tower bar, and a Cusco mid pillar bar.

With an overall impressive package inside and out, this is definitely one of the more stunning R32s coming out of the East. Just have a look for yourself.

iM Feature: Ger & Yau’s Acura CSX

If you recall last summer we featured a crazy 350z from Toronto (link here). Well Ger is back, this time with his brother and they’re proud to showcase their crazy ‘daily driver’ JDM converted CSX. But make no mistake this is no beater style daily driver which most us would associate with that term. It’s actually a pretty crazy top to bottom JDM inspired build.

Ger and Yau are rocking legit JDM FD2 bumpers, fenders and lights all around the car and as if that wasn’t enough they slapped on a plethora of Mugen parts (most likely shipped overnight from Japan) to stand out even more. To keep up in all the daily traffic the brothers added HONDATA Flash Pro, Skunk2 Cams and Header and an extremely baller 70R J’s Racing titanium exhaust system. Moving to the interior, Bride Low Max seats, Defi gauges and ARC shift knob round out the cabin comforts. The car is rolling on an aggressive set of 18×9.5/8.5 +15/+35 RPF1’s and what daily drive doesn’t need a set of Endless 6pot brakes!

Thanks goes out to our Toronto buddy Galen Wan for the pics! Enjoy.

iM Film: Driven 2012

With Driven 2012 now two weeks behind us, we have our final piece of the coverage with a look at the entire show in video form! With a show so immense in size it was an effort on all fronts to get the footage we needed to showcase the best of the best. However due to the great turn out, it was great to be able to shoot such a variety of cars in a relatively small area. We hope you enjoy this video and stay tuned for many more feature videos on some of the cars you saw at Driven 2012!

iM Highlight: Taylor’s 1994 GSR

Most of my friends have always known me as a VW kind of guy, and some of you might remember my old feature with my VR6 swapped Mk2 Jetta Coupe. Hanging around with nothing but Honda guys, it was only a matter of time before they would have me converted. After 4 years of convincing I finally caved in and picked up this 1994 GSR. I picked up the car with the intention of doing a full itr replica, while the car already had the jdm front end with various other itr spec parts, I have accumulated numerous parts to finish it off  the exterior before I head into the motor. While I have big plans for the car this winter, I just recently picked up a set of Gramlight T57-RC’s and thought what better way to begin a new chapter in my life as a Honda enthusiast, to share with you what I will be working with. Enjoy.

Driven 2012 Wrap Up

10 days ago hundreds of people came down to the Olympic Oval in Calgary, Alberta to support us at the Driven 2012 show. Just like in the past, our focus on the community and those in need was in full effect. With the support of all our fans and supporters we were able to raise an astonishing $1000.00 to help the children at the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. Safeway Canada also added $100 to our pool to bring our total to $1100.

To thank all of you, we have a bunch of new stuff stocked up in our store for you to support us and the charities we donate to on a regular basis. Make your way over to the store and get your hands on some new stuff before it’s all gone!

Our refreshed logo design! Available in 6 of your chosen favorites. Matte Black, Pink, Teal, White, Red, & Frost!

Carabiners and Key Tags! Our lanyards were a hit and so were these at Driven 2012. Upgrade that old key chain!

Once again a huge thank-you goes out to each and every one of you for your support over the years! We look forward to seeing you all at the Sunday School Show & Shine on August 5th where we will be supporting another great charity and having a ton of fun!

iM Event Coverage: Revwerks Sideways Sunday #1 June 17,…

This past Sunday (June 17th, 2012) a few of us from the crew got a chance to head down and check out the first Revwerks Auto-X event, “Sideways Sunday” which was held at the rear parking lot of Cross Iron Hills Mall. With no track available to drivers in the city of Calgary, the amount of cars that participated in this event was quite impressive and it definitely pointed out the fact that Calgary’s motorsports scene is not going anywhere. Check out a few pics from the event (which also showcased a few whips in the parking lot) and stay tuned for more details on another Sideways Sunday event brought to you by Revwerks in the near future! A big shout out going out to Revwerks and their staff for putting this on for Calgary’s driving enthusiasts. Enjoy the pics!

iM Feature: The Calagui Brothers

All in the family.

Without a doubt, there is nothing that will ever be stronger than the bond between members within a family. This is especially true when it comes to loyalty amongst siblings. Even over time as siblings grow apart and go about their separate ways in life, the level of respect and trust that is created by brothers and sisters will simply never be broken.

Staying true to the sibling tradition are Allan and Raymon Calagui. Being exposed to everything and anything car related since they were young, both Allan and Ray were always on the same page when it came to building a project car; Form and Function. Neither Form nor Function is compromised when it came to any of the Calagui Brothers’ projects. Because of this “all out” attitude that the Calagui’s possess, any of the builds created by Allan or Ray have always been known to have a timeless and classic touch to them.

Keeping it real with the family state of mind, Ray and Allan looked to the BMW family with their latest projects. Allan, with a 2008 BMW 335i Sedan and Ray, with a 2011 BMW 335xi Coupe. With both cars carrying incredible performance out of the box, it’s no wonder the Calagui brothers chose these BMWs as their platforms, both filled with tons of potential.

Performance playing a major factor on both vehicles, Allan unleashes his 335i Sedan with a Stage 3 tune and a methanol injection kit. Add a full Active Autowerkes exhaust and AR Design 3″ catless downpipes and this is one Sedan that maintains a classy exterior while it leaves others in the dust, if need be.

Ray looks to none other than BMW Performance (Exhaust) and an AR Design 4″ catless down pipe to get his 335xi Coupe intimidating any stock M3 that pulls up next to it. Complete with a BMS N55 Stage 2 tune and Methanol Injection Kit mounted in the trunk, this is definitely one 335xi Coupe that will give any M3 a run for it’s money.

Exterior wise, both vehicles maintain signature BMW aesthetics with a few BMW Performance add-ons giving each vehicle a little more whip appeal to anyone who lays their eyes upon the Coupe or the Sedan.

What arguably makes this 335i Sedan and 335xi Coupe stand out from other BMWs on the road, is the stance and wheel game showcased on both vehicles. Allan’s Sedan rocks an uber classy set of Work Euroline XRs, while Ray’s Coupe slays with a custom made set of Work’s timeless wheel, a gold set of VS-XXs.

With both vehicles participating in the stance game, while at the same time putting down plenty of power, anyone who ever thought that form and function could never be part of the same family, can re-think the whole process. Just have a look at the Calagui Brothers’ BMWs, and you’ll see why.
