iM Highlight: Mike’s 1975 Honda CB750

I’m sure by now, everyone is missing the warm summer months. The days where you could go outside, meet up with some homies and chill in a parking lot, and go for a cruise with the windows down. Although some of us still drive our cars in winter mode, I feel for you guys and gals who ride bikes. Putting a bike away for 7-8 months must be very depressing.

Mike Salek is one of those people. You’ve probably seen some shots of his Ducati 999R and a few random pics of his black AP2 S2000 on the site before. He’s been an avid supporter of us since we started illmotion, always bringing a bike (or 2) or a vehicle to the car shows here in the city representing us.

So its probably gonna hurt him that I’m putting these pics up in the dead of winter. Mike tracked down this rare 1975 Honda CB750 up a few years ago. He needed something different than the sport bikes he’s been riding/collecting and has been working on developing it into its ‘brat’ style that has become more popular in recent years. Its funny because this bike has been very controversial on bike forums because of the choices he’s made building it, but at the end of it, its his bike, his choices/touches, and you cannot deny that it is a complete work of art.

It is also of note that this bike was built on a strict budget of $3000. Amazing work considering the price of the bike itself included in that budget.

-custom front and rear suspension
-custom cut and re-welded frame
-custom made seat pan and seat
-custom made side mount license plate mount
-custom motocross foot pegs
-custom made shorty rear fender
