iM Event Coverage: MADD Canada’s Quarry Park & Polish…

On Sunday, September 9th 2012, the crew headed out to Quarry Park to support MADD Canada’s “Quarry Park & Polish” held in Calgary. Since illmotion started in 2010, this has been one of our favorite shows to attend and support as it brings such an eclectic array of vehicles ranging from imports, domestics, classics, and exotic super cars that we never usually get to see on an every day basis. What makes this show and shine extra special from other shows is the chance we get as “illmotion” not to promote our brand, but rather just kick it with our homies and make some new ones, ultimately enjoying time together as a community and at the same time, raising awareness to bring an end to impaired driving.

This year was exceptionally different from the last two events because the general public was given an opportunity to take a little tour of the Cardel building, with it’s luxurious lobby. The Cardel building even had it’s own theatre, which was very cool to hang out in and check out.

Another awesome feature at this year’s Quarry Park & Polish was a look inside the Calgary Police Service’s CHECKSTOP bus, which for sure will be our first and last time checking out. We certainly hope you guys would never ever have to set foot in one of these buses due to driving under the influence; definitely not worth it.

With Calgary’s weather getting colder and colder as the days go by, the Quarry Park & Polish show held by MADD Canada was definitely a great event to close the season out! Many thanks to MADD Canada for putting this on for everyone! See you guys at 2013’s Quarry Park & Polish!

iM Event Coverage: Weekly 403 Honda/Beyond.ca Meet – September…

The month of September is upon us, which pretty much signals the end of the summer, the start of fall, and impending coming of a automotive enthusiasts least favorite season: winter. You can feel it getting colder and colder here in the evening and night, but that still will not stop a bunch of people from showing up to the weekly meets. Grabbed a few pictures while we were at it, please excuse some of the quality, it was getting quite dark very quickly.

Enjoy, and see you next week!

And then there is this: a Honda S2000 with an Amuse wide body kit. I first saw it at night a few days ago, and words cannot do justice to how well this car looks. The owner has been without this car all summer while it was being completed, and gets it back with a little bit of time left to enjoy it, so I had to post a few pictures of it.

iM Event Coverage: Weekly 403 Honda/Beyond.ca Meet – August…

Had a chance to attend the weekly 403 Honda/Beyond.ca meet on Wednesday. Hopefully you guys continue to come out and hang out while the weather is still decent. And speaking of which, watch out for the announcement coming very soon of the annual Beyond.ca SuperMeat!

Here are a few of the pics we caught, more pics can be found on our Flickr page: HERE

And last one, just because it was apparently a weight reduction mod performed by the owners significant other. Headlight glass is useless and is way too heavy:

See you guys on Wednesday!

iM Event Coverage: Importfest 2012

On Saturday, August 25th 2012, the illmotion crew made it out to Toronto, Ontario to check out the Importfest show. Thousands flocked to the Metro Convention Center located in Downtown Toronto to check out the best of the best that the city and surrounding areas had to offer. Imporfest showcased quite the variety of modified imports, domestics, luxury and exotic vehicles, and it was amazing to see how enthusiasts and tuners alike do it up on the east side of Canada. Dubbed as “Canada’s biggest and baddest car show”, Importfest did not disappoint as all styles of tuning and modifying were on hand ranging from form, function, and even one of a kind customs.

The illmotion crew definitely had a good time checking out the variety and uniqueness that this show had to offer and it was awesome to see some good friends and make some new ones!

We would like to take this opportunity to give a huge shout out to our homies from the Level One Crew for repping our decals and definitely holding it down for the scene here in Ontario. Incredible cars guys!

Thank you for a dope experience Importfest!!! Until next time!

Enjoy the pics!

iM Event Coverage: Auto Union 2012

On Sunday August 19, 2012, A few of us from the crew made it out to Red Deer, Alberta to check out the Auto Union 2012 Show. Luckily, we were able to catch the last little bit of the show and from what we saw, the cars that attended were definitely suited up for the event. The Auto Union show attracted a pretty decent turn out with some top notch cars of various makes and models. We hope this show happens and again next year and hopefully we are there to participate at the event and of course stay for a longer period of time!

We hope you enjoy a few snaps that we managed to get JUST before the show ended!

On to the pics…

iM Event Coverage: Das Volks 2012

The illmotion crew went to the Das Volks event last year and the quality of cars was so good we had to check it out again this year. Below are a few of the car that caught our eye.

And a couple overall shots of the turnout. Nice work everyone, see you again next year!

iM Event Coverage: Sunday School Show & Shine 2012

Once again, that time of year has come and gone. Our second annual Sunday School Show & Shine turned out great and we couldn’t have done it without every single person showing up to come hang out and show some support. It’s great to see more and more people coming out to participate and even spectate all the cars that come out. Our show is more about coming out and having a good time – we don’t care what you drive or what you’ve done to your car, it’s the fact that people come together to share the same common interest as everybody else.

A huge and special thanks to beyond.ca for collaborating with us this year and helping us make this happen – we couldn’t have done it without you guys!

Another big thanks to our DJ “NewGoldWatch!” – JT Rebalbos for providing the music all day in the blistering heat! Always a pleasure to have you out. And thanks to the FloorWookies/On2Logic Crew for giving us some entertainment with your break dancing throughout the day. Props to you guys for doing what you do!

Finally – thank you to everyone that registered and came out to help support us and the automotive scene we all love so much. We had a great turnout this year and we hope that you guys will join us again next year to make it even better!

Onto the pics! We will post as many as we can… but the rest of the set can be found on our flickR page

iM Event Coverage: First Alliance Show ‘N Shine

There was a few events this weekend and it all started off with the First Alliance Show ‘N Shine on Saturday July 21st. This was the 5th year this show has been running for, and based on the number of cars, it was another successful show. This event showcased a diverse array of cars, from classics to tuners. Everyone came together to create a great event for the community and next year the illmotion crew will definitely be a part of this event. Now to show you what we are talking about, here are the pics!

iM Event Coverage: Weekly 403 Honda/Beyond.ca Meet – July…

A few of us made it out to the Beyond.ca weekly meet at chinook this week and it was a pretty decent turn out so I had to grab the camera and snap a few pics.

If you feel like attending, these are held every Wednesday if the weather is decent at the top rear parkade of Chinook Centre/Mall.

There is something we do need to mention. There were a few dangerous incidents that happened last night by others. We all have the urge to do stuff like burnouts, drifts and stuff like that after meets and such, but just as a reminder, the Beyond.ca meets have been held there at Chinook for years now on Wednesday evenings, with the security at the mall for the most part letting us hang out there as long as we behave. Incidents like this will weaken the relationship between security and us fellow car lovers, and they may not allow us to meet there anymore if incidents like this continue. Please help us by refraining from burnouts, speeding up the ramp, drifting, leaving garbage around. This in turn will make sure we continue to have a place to go on Wednesdays.
