iM Feature: Alex’s Turbo Integra

I’ve been hearing about this Integra for a few months now but it’s just been hectic around here that I’ve never got the chance to shoot it until last night. At first I was expecting something that I’ve seen around the city before. Once I got talking to Alex (the owner) – he had told me that the car has barely been out and he just happened to rack up just a little over 1000km’s on the car. That’s when I started to get excited to see it.

When he drove up, I realized why guys like Jackie and Pat vouched for the car. (Not that I doubted the car). There aren’t too many nicely done turbo’d cars around town but when there is, it’s a damn nice sight to see. Tuned with Hondata S300 w/ boost solenoid, he can put down 368 at 12 lbs of boost.

iM Feature: Function vs Form – Part 1

Being slammed is the latest trend in the import tuner world, however, cars with a slammed stance tend to be impractical, especially on the roads we have in Calgary. Tuners have to choose between the sick look of a slammed ride and have trouble with their car scraping everywhere or settle for a less aggressive stance but be more practical.
We have here 2 cars in which their owners chose either function or form. On one side, we have Josh Sivadas’s lowered white Integra Type-R with Volk CE28n’s and on the other side we have Reggie Mah’s slammed Phoenix Yellow with Sportmax rims and tons of negative camber. One has no problem making it up the tiny ramp to get into this parking lot where we shot, the other had considerable trouble. However, both of these cars have some of the best parts available, ranging from Mugen to ARC. In parts two and three, we will take a more indepth look at each car, so stay tuned!

Dutch Japfest Coverage

Last weekend was the biggest dutch car event regarding japanese cars.
Japfest or JAF for short.

It was a long day but my crew had a cool place and just enough space to park all the cars. The event is a mixture of 3 things. At first you have all the dutch japanese car club standing at the paddock area. Second best we have the “Toyo Tyres Shootout” which is basicly the 1/4 mile sprint and as best we our own dutch Time Attack series.

Since they first started in 2007, the line-up just got better and better and more people are into the whole tracktime thing.

Just to give you a small example of the day. Have a look at the following video by RPMonline.

Further more i would like to show you my on board video i shot with a ContourHD cam.
Its 17 minutes of track with my DC2. Since it was my first time on this track, i really took it slow and just had fun.

I’ll post the full video from RPMonline when it is ready, so that you guys have a complete impression of the day.

iM Random Snaps: Punit’s Integra

Just thought I would put up 2 picture’s of the Integra from a shoot we did a few weeks back. This shoot didn’t last to long because my car started to leak oil again. Turned out to be a bad gasket. Good new’s is since that day I haven’t leaked a drop of oil. Anyways here is the shots that Prashant took.

Last Saturday a few of us from the crew went out and took some random snaps of our whips. This shoot almost didn’t happen (Thanks Punit) but with the patience of the peeps who came out we were able to get some pretty dope shots as the sun was ready to fade for the day.

Shout out to Justin and Jackie T. for coming along with us.

More pics after the jump!

iM Random Snaps: Integra Oil Spill

So today I was going to drive my mom to the grocery store to go grab some stuff. All was well until a death bump in the road got me. I didn’t notice anything until I parked the car. After making a few call’s I was told to call the non-emergency line and get in touch with the Fire Department. These guy’s came out within 10 minutes and cleaned up the mess! After that I had to get the car towed to Prashant’s house where we will take the oil pan off and determine how bad the damage really is. Here’s a few picture’s of it once we got to Prashant’s house. Thanks to everyone who came out to help (Prashant and Jason).

iM: Justin’s Type-R

Sitting around shooting the shit, hanging with some other Honda heads while they did a clutch install so I snapped a couple quick pics of Justin’s new whip.

You may recall his previous car….. a stupid dumped EG Civic hatch seen here:
Justin’s slammed EG hatch

Anyone that knows Justin knew the new car was going to be dumped immediately. In fact it was ridding low before most people even realized he had the car.

Yes he completely ruined a Type-R haha…. so bring on the hate!

Pictures really do the ride height no justice. Wheels are only 15″ haha…. could easily tuck rim with 16’s. Dope!

Really liked this picture…. too bad I messed up the exposure settings and it went all blue toned. Still turned out alright.

Full set of pictures coming soon. And remember kids, if it aint a type-r then it aint a tight car!

iM: Punit’s car learning to walk again

Met up on Thursday with Brad, Punit and Prashant and we went to work on the Teg. Rolled and pulled the fenders, hooked up his subs and alarm, fixed the next-to-nothing idle and we got it going.
Here are some quick pics of it on the road again! Hallelujah. Looks like it’ll be ready for the show – just by a hair.

Nice shot of the rears

OH snap.. here we go

You gotta give a little to get a little.

That’s all for now.. Until Driven that is. Come visit us June 12th if you’re around and check out the booth and say hi!

iM: Punit’s Suspension Work

Got called over to Jackie’s place this evening for an install party on his front and rear camber arms. Being replaced with buddyclub’s.
Well after a while of standing around, we all decided to get to work. First we had to grind off his rear bolts because they were seized up to the bushing. Next thing, JC, Punit and I finished off the fronts pretty quick. Gangsterrr

No other pics until it’s complete.
It’s coming along quick now! Look out for a photoshoot!
