iM: Black Friday

With new and exciting things coming up and a new release in the works, we have decided to celebrate something that our American homies celebrate every year.

Black Friday.

No. There aren’t gonna be any 46″ TV’s or Blu-Ray DVD players. HOWEVER, we will be holding a sale for one day only – This Friday, on all in-store decals.

If you’ve been wanting to cop some illmotion decals, this will be your chance. We will also be holding a giveaway for the special decal we’re bringing out on Friday as well to celebrate Black Friday.

Watch for this on Friday! We’ll have more info as we get closer! Happy shopping!

iM Highlight

iM Highlight: 2008 Mazda "SLOWAGN"

|Words and Photos: Kevin Stachniak

When you hear the growl of Greddy’s Ti-C exhaust, followed by the sound of Turbosmart’s Hybrid blow-off valve, a Mazda hatchback isn’t the first thing you expect to roll up beside you.

Most people assume it’s a Mazda 3 and laugh out-loud ’cause they’re thinking “This fool is running a Honda S2000 Mazda 3…” However that becomes an apparent mistake when the car takes off, as the only thing that this tuned Mazda Speed3 GT shares with the Mazda 3 is the overall body shape.

Lowered on Cobb Springs, and wearing 18″ Rota Formula Mesh shoes laced up with some Kumho Ecsta SPT Tyres, the car maintains a lightly lowered stance, while remaining stylish & functional for cruising year-round.

Other cosmetic changes include Street Unit’s blackout “Flying M” logos, blackout Side Markers and some JDM styled yellow high beams & fog Lights.

When you pop the hood, some of the goodies found amidst the standards of the MS3 include a Cobb SRI Intake, Cobb Turbo Inlet, and a Turbosmart Hybrid BOV.

As for the junk in the trunk ( where most would expect a couple bags of groceries): a JL 10w7 Sub, JL high output spec.’d box and a JL 500.1/v2 amp keep the beats bumpin’.

iM Feature: Reggie Mah’s 1998 Acura Integra GS

“Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow”

The unmistakable lyrics to Wiz Khalifa’s single is what comes to mind when Reggie’s car is spotted around town. Aside from it’s color motif, it’s unique stance definitely grabs the attention of anyone who notices it, as does it’s roaring Buddy Club Spec 2 exhaust.

Inspired by Dal Law’s Integra Type-R, Reggie had his mind set on building one for himself. To set this project apart from the other Integras in Calgary, Reggie built this car with “form over function” in mind.

Before “Form Over Function” however, Reggie also took this vehicle to Race City track days to get a better feel for the car and to see how it performed on the track. With a fine list of suspension mods, there is no second thoughts on how well the vehicle conquered the track.

Reggie’s attention to detail cannot go unnoticed as well. With simple things like the Integra Type-R front end conversion and Phoenix Yellow paint job, shaved door moldings, Status seats with Takata harnesses, and a Honda S2000 push button start retrofit, there’s no doubting Reggie’s pursuit for one crazy Integra.

With “Black & Yellow” being the theme of Reggie’s car, don’t be surprised if you hear that track playing in his whip at a stop light. And just like Wiz says, “No Keys, Push To Start!” Uh huh, you know what it is!

fcswdt x illmotion tee

“It’s T-Shirt Time”

Over the last few months, we’ve been hard at work with Calvin Lee of the FCSWDT brand and have come up with a shirt that we are excited to share with you all.

Since we’ve started we’ve had a lot of requests for an illmotion tee so with the collaborative efforts of FCSWDT and yours truly this is what we’ve designed to definitely “make everyone look”.

The concept of “Made You Look” is something we all thought applied to everyday life. Whether it be how you dress, your actions, how your car looks, what you do on the track, or even just having your car parked at the local grocery store, you’ve always got someone’s attention by what you do, or how you do it.

In typical illmotion fashion (and being known for our shoots), we wanted to feature this shirt in it’s entirety and had Amber graciously model this tee for you all. And just like the shirt says, “Made You Look!”

A big shout out to Calvin & Addison of FCSWDT for collaborating on this shirt with us and letting us use their shop to do the photoshoot. And a huge THANK YOU to the lovely Amber for modeling this tee.

Stay tuned for more details on the release of this shirt and when it will be available in the online shop!

Thank you all for your continuous support!

iM Random Snaps

iM Random Snaps: It’s All About Having FUN!

I miss the summer already. Random cruises, warm weather, track days, photoshoots… the list goes on. At the end of it all, it was all about having fun.

The other guys know that I love taking pics of cars, but I also love taking the randoms and the candids. Here are a few random snaps from a few things we did this summer during the track days, shoots, meets, etc.

We have a few shoots that haven’t been posted yet, so look out for them soon!

Keep working on those projects peeps! We got something in store for you for the winter, so keep your eyes peeled.

Thomas Mack with his take on the illmotion decal. The first one that we’ve ever seen like it, and it looks dope!

Ed Jai on his RSX

Kalpesh Patel on his macbook. Matte black and aluminum finish = fresh.

And finally, Phil Adamson reppin’ all the way from the Netherlands on his civic hatch rockin’ some meisters too.

iM: Punit’s Integra – Take One

We went out a few weeks back and I borrowed Prashant’s 5D to record a short movie. My first take at it, but I think it turned out alright. I still got a lot of practicing to do with iMovie and such, but enjoy! Hit the HD button to watch it in High Def!
