iM Feature: Law Brothers

Near the end of the season last year we had the opportunity to shoot both Jackie’s S2000 and Dal’s K20 Type R together behind Speedtech. It’s not the ideal location, but the cars themselves make up for the lack of any type of backdrop you probably won’t even notice.

I will probably end up shooting Jackie’s S2000 again come this season with his new goodies, but for now.. this is how it sat before we closed 2009. In a way, I think we’re all trying to post up what we had for 2009 so that everyone can take a look at what we had and what we have coming. Think of them as fillers or teasers until Spring finally comes. Before you know it, you’ll be seeing sick rides all over ill.motion.

These two cars are the definition of balance and quality. You’ll begin to see a recurring theme with the cars we put on here – from the attention to detail the guys have to the expectation for nothing less than quality parts.

The build for these two cars has always pushed the envelope for the local guys in the tuning scene. You’re thinking of it? They’ve done it. Very rarely will you see a similar car because they strive to be different and by the time people have caught on, they’ve moved on. Keep checking back for updates during the spring of these two cars and what they have in store. It’s almost like free advertising!

iM Flashback

iM Flashback: JC Tenchavez’s Toyota Echo RS Hatchback (Vitz…

Going through some old photos on my PC (Which I can’t believe is still running after I abandoned it for a Macbook Pro) I stumbled upon some photos of my Echo RS Hatchback. After High School, I’m sure a lot of young adults wanted a fast car or a car that reflected “Social Status”. I was not one of those young adults.

When I graduated the car I wanted to own was a Toyota Echo RS Hatchback. Family and friends were a bit confused with my car of choice, that is until they saw the vision I had for the little Echo…

In my house, you’re bound to find a car tuning magazine on the coffee table; whether it be as American as Import Tuner to Super Street or as “JDM” as Option Magazine. Being exposed to Option Magazine when I was younger I noticed that Japan had a variety of unique vehicles that were not found here in North America.

At the time one of those vehicles was the Toyota Vitz RS. When I first saw a modified Vitz in one of the Option magazines this was a car I definitely wished I could own.

In 2003 Toyota Canada granted my wish and released the Vitz under it’s North American name the Echo Hatchback. When I found out the news I knew this was the car I wanted to build and I immediately asked my parents if they could help me get this car. But being in the household I’m in you have to work to get what you want.

In 2004 I eventually got what I wanted, and after countless overtime hours and 3 jobs (I was even in Post Secondary school too) my vision was finally brought to life.

Although I no longer own this car, I do plan on finding another white Echo RS Hatch in the future. Looking at these pictures though, I kinda wish I never got rid of it in the first place and continued with the build. LOL!

But hey who knows what I’ll have up my sleeve with the XRS… ;D

Fit

iM: Fit does Work

So Diana and I got bored today and decided to test fit the Meisters she bought from Punit. They’ve been sitting in her garage for a few months and we didn’t even test fit them to see if they fit good so I decided to do it up this afternoon. The fronts sit nice and flush, the rears are a little sunk, but it’s all good.
We still have to install the T1R S-coil springs on the beast and we’re good to go. She’s also getting the spokes refinished in a different color probably in a few weeks so they won’t be gold and we’ll have fresh new stickers. Stay tuned!

Gangster TSX

Just sitting here surfing the net, waiting for the good weather to come out so we can all get our whips out. Snow falling as I type this. I don’t have a lot of stuff to post so I will just post stuff I find on the internet. I just love the stance on this TSX. Such an aggressive fitment. The color of the car and the color of the rims go perfectly.

iM Upcoming Feature

iM: Upcoming Feature

Check back soon for another great iM:Feature coming in the near future!

Here’s a couple of teaser pics…

And another random shot since it was nice outside yesterday…

iM Feature: Terence Wah’s Honda S2000

Last summer Arif and I had the opportunity to shoot Terence’s S2000. There are plenty of s2000’s that are out there, but notably only a few stand out. Among them stands Terence’s.
After getting to know Terence and his car, he is a guy with attention to detail and taste. Function and form is his philosophy and very rarely will you see any mod on his car that won’t help him out on the track.
The reason for this feature is his plan for this season. Terence has big plans ready for 2010 and this will be the first place you’ll see it because I vow to be the first one to shoot it haha

They don’t call Terence the man with the God Hand for nothing. 2010 will be sure to prove this.

Guest Blog: Porsche Carrera C4 Wide-body 911

While hanging out at my favorite place to relax, I ran into this pristine 1994 Porsche Carrera C4 Wide-body 911.

Only 200 were made with this particular set-up having turbo brakes and body, with a non-turbo motor.
The owner of this rolling work of art is Tim Boyle from Long Beach Island, NJ. Tim didn’t purchase this car in the hopes of making the cover of a magazine or to acquire a bunch of sponsors to make money. Tim bought this car as a pure enthusiast, enjoying the car in its pure essence. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE seeing cars modified into something much bigger and badder than they were ever intended to be.

But a car like this only needs to be clean and classic, just the way it came from the factory. The only change made were to the wheels, which I couldn’t agree on more.
When talking to Tim about this car, he knew every specification and how the car handled in different conditions.
His passion for his car put the biggest smile on my face. Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that make us the happiest.

K.Saun Photography

After being in the photography game for a few years now, I’ve started to realize much more about taking pictures. You start to learn your own style, your own way of post-processing and what genuinely makes a good picture.

Like the tuner scene where you meet and become acquainted with people with similar interests and styles, the photography scene is just the same. I’ve become friends with photographers around the world that share the same goal all photographers do – that is to take great pictures that everyone can appreciate to the fullest.

One of the photographers that has caught my eye since I first started or even before I had my first dSLR is Kevin Saunders, AKA K.Saun Photography. His work stands out from the rest of the automotive photographers and that’s what makes him great at his work.

Check out a few shots that he’s taken over the past years

Support

Thanks!

First off, we would like to thank all you guys for support over just the past few days that we’ve launched. We honestly didn’t expect to grow this fast or have this much support in a matter of days. As a result, we’re working hard to pick up slack and get the stickers made and out to you guys ASAP.

As an example of how quickly we’ve grown due in part to your guys’ support… On the first day, if you had googled “illmotion”, we were no where to be found. On just the second day, if you had googled “illmotion”, there we are right on top with approximately 450 visits – all in a matter of a day. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support you guys have all given.

So as we continue to grow, we hope to bring as much content as we can. We’ll keep you updated on our builds, local builds and anything that we can all appreciate as a group of tuners. With that said, if you’ve got a car or content that you think we should post up, feel free to let us know!
