iM Event Coverage

iM Event Coverage: Revwerks Track Day IV

Revwerks has become a regular name at the track these past couple of years. Booking up track-days month after month. This time with a wider mix of cars and even a supercar making an appearance it was a track day to remember!

Even though the usual crowd was out enjoying the sun and track, there was another crowd who brought out their brand new BMW’s and Audi’s to put them to test. It was definitely a sight to see and we hope to see those guys out there at the next one which is scheduled for August 18th. Make sure you come out as spectating is always free!

As winter closes in and Race City imminently closing down, these Revwerks track-days maybe your last chance to enjoy some time behind the wheel or hear the sound of engines rumbling down the straight.

And as usual the parking lot is full of nice cars just begging to be tracked!

Drifting

iM Event Coverage: StatusOne x DriftSquad Slideways Fridays

Just want to start off by giving a shoutout to both StatusOne Autoworks and Driftsquad for putting on a great event! Even though the weather was windy and rainy at times the guys still went out there and showed off their skills!

This was the first time heading out to one of their events and it was awesome to meet some of the drifters who we don’t regularly meet at other events. It was also great to enjoy some good music while shooting so props to the DJ that came out!

Looking forward to the next one on August 5th(Postponed until further notice. Stay tuned to StatusOne’s Facebook page for details)! Come check it out!

iM Feature

iM Feature: Chris’s Triumph TR7

I had the opportunity to shoot Chris’s Trumph TR7 a while ago and finally got the chance to get it up. I have to admit, this isn’t a car you see everyday – in fact, this is a car I have never seen until last year at the Driven car show. I was literally confused and delighted when he rolled in the booth because at first glance, if you don’t know Triumph, then you’re going to wonder what car this is. At second glance, you’ll know the SR20 sitting under the hood is no joke.

Chris has done most of the work himself with the help of various shops around town and the resources he could find – not everybody can help you if they don’t have many parts for it in the first place unfortunately.

Engine:
Nissan Sr20det S13 Blacktop
Garret GT2871r .64 trim turbo
Tomei exhaust manifold
Tomei plug cover
Brian Crower 264 Cams
SARD 550cc side feed injectors
Nissan Z32 MAF
Circuit Sports aluminum fuel rail
Circuit Sports turbo lines
Circuit Sports aluminum pullys
Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator
Aeromotive fuel filter

Mishimoto aluminum rad (RX7)
Mishimoto twin electric fans
Mishimoto couplers/rad hoses
Vibrant intercooler
Custom intercooler piping
Custom cold air intake
Eprom ECU

One of the best thing about Chris’s car is that it’s so light and with the SR20 powering it, there’s very little holding it back. That’s the number one thing we strive for when building our cars – weight reduction. He’s got it stock.

Misc:
Quaife LSD
Wilwood big brake kit
Custom strut bar
Custom drive shaft
Triumph TR8 spyder rear brakes
Triumph TR8 rear differential
Koni/Spax suspension
Custom 3” exhaust off of turbo
Pacesetter exhaust tips

Other Stuff:

If you do see Chris roaming the roads, I’m sure it’s going to be something you won’t be able to take your eyes off. It is quite the sight. We also had the pleasure of having him in our DTP booth this year in Vancouver and he took home best Classic car of the night!

iM Event Coverage: DTP Vancouver July 16, 2011 –…

The illmotion Dudes headed out to Vancouver, BC on July 16, 2011 at the Rocky Mountaineer Station to attend the DTP Auto Show presented by Yokohama Tires. The caliber of cars that were present at the show (and the parking lot) just left everybody from the crew speechless. Vancouver’s scene brought everything to the table from highly modified sport compacts and even a few modified luxury vehicles.

Aside from the rain, the Vancouver DTP Auto Show was unlike anything we’ve seen in Calgary and it was good to see how other car enthusiasts in Canada are reppin’ for their city. The rain didn’t stop anyone from attending the show and it was definitely nice seeing some familiar faces and meeting new ones!

Congratulations going out to illmotion’s very own Punit Patel for winning 2nd Place Best Acura. Also a huge shout out and congratulations going out to Chris Gudzowsky (Best Classic Showoff), Michael Kwan (Best Stance Showoff) and James Ditchfield (Best Subaru) on their awards as well.

With illmotion going home with 4 awards and an amazing modified car representation from Vancouver, the DTP Auto Show was definitely worth the trip!

A huge thanks to all of you who came out to the show and much appreciation and thanks to those who attended the DTP show to rep alongside with us! The drive to and from was a blast! (Stay tuned for Random Shots of the trip)

On to part one of the show pics!

iM: Weekly 403 Honda/Beyond Meet – July 13, 2011

Another week brings another post with pics from the weekly 403 Honda/Beyond Meet. There was a threat of rain, which stopped people from showing up, but luckily only a few drops hit us at Chinook. Hopefully the weather is better and we see everyone for the next one!
